Dear Parents and Guardians,

I can’t believe that the winter break is here. Our students have made such remarkable progress academically since the beginning of the school year. Please continue to encourage your children to always do their personal best.

The school will be closed from Monday, December 20th through Tuesday, January 4th. Classes resume on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022. Students are encouraged to read and complete their optional holiday homework over the break in order to get extra credit.

On behalf of the HSI Euless Elementary staff, we wish everyone a happy holiday season and a restful break. Stay safe. Stay well. And we’ll see all our students back at school on January 5th!

As we come to the end of 2021, we would like to acknowledge our students’ efforts with an award ceremony on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Parents are allowed to come for the award ceremony but will be required to check in with the front office before the ceremony. Students are allowed to come in free dress for this occasion. Please adhere to the dress code in our Student Handbook.
  • 8:00 am- 10:00 am – Kindergarten and 1st grade students
  • 10:30 am – 11:45 am – 4th and 5th-grade students
  • 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm – 2nd and 3rd-grade students
Brief Explanation of Awards that will be given out:
Perfect Attendance – Students that have perfect attendance for the entire semester with NO school or class tardies, no absences, no early sign-outs. (Excused absences are not considered as perfect attendance)
AB Honor Roll– This award recognizes outstanding students who have earned an A and B average for the end of the first semester.
A Honor Roll- This award recognizes outstanding students who have earned an A average for the end of the first semester.
Principal Award will recognize 1 student from each class that has made exemplary contributions to their class and school, has shown strong leadership skills, and is a role model to his/her peers for the entire semester.
Please remember that important instruction is still happening in our classrooms for the rest of the day. Please do not check your child out of class early so they can complete the remainder of their learning today.

Re-Enrollment for current Harmony families who plan to return next school year is January 4-28, 2022.

Re-Enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year for Harmony families begins soon.

During this time of year each January, we ask families to complete a simple, online Re-Enrollment process, letting us know they’ll be joining us for another great year of learning and fun next school year, which starts in August 2022.

This simple step allows us to make sure each current student’s spot at Harmony is reserved for the following school year, and assess how many new student seats we have available for other applicants.

Re-Enrollment at Harmony Public Schools runs January 4-28, 2022. Look for more details in your email inbox, via Skyward, or on our Facebook page soon.

In the meantime, check out these 6 things families need to know about Re-Enrollment at Harmony Public Schools.

#1 – When is Re-Enrollment season?

For the 2022-2023 school year, re-enrollment will be January 4-28, 2022.

#2 – How do I apply for Re-Enrollment?

The preferred method for re-enrollment is through the student’s online Skyward account. (A link to Skyward can be found at the top of your campus homepage or you can simply click here.). Parents without internet and/or Skyward access may also request a paper re-enrollment option from their child’s campus.

#3 – What is the difference between Re-Enrollment and Open Enrollment?

Re-enrollment is intended for current Harmony students planning to stay at their current campus the following school year, or who will naturally feed upward to a new campus (e. from elementary to nearby middle school). Open Enrollment is for new students, or current students who wish to change Harmony campuses for personal reasons (ex. transferring to a campus closer to home).

#4 – If a student plans to stay at the same school next year, are they automatically guaranteed re-enrollment if they complete the re-enrollment process before the deadline?

Yes, so long as their family completes the re-enrollment process.

#5 – What happens if a parent does not submit their re-enrollment information before the deadline?

If a parent misses the deadline to complete the re-enrollment process, then the student will lose his/her reserved space for next school year and must apply during Open Enrollment, held November 1-February 10 each school year. To apply, visit www.HarmonyTX.org/Apply.

#6 – What does a Harmony parent need to do if they would like to stay with Harmony, but transfer to a different campus for the next school year?

If a parent would like to change Harmony campuses for the following school year, they must submit an application for the desired school at www.HarmonyTX.org/Apply.

Dear HSI – Euless Families, 

 

Our campus will once again be participating in STAAR Interim testing. STAAR Interim testing will be held next week Dec. 13th – 15th (Monday – Wednesday). Testing time will be promptly from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and then students will resume normal schedules for the rest of the day. 

 

The schedule will be as follows:

Monday, December 13th   Reading 3rd, 4th, &5th

Tuesday, December 14th           Math             3rd, 4th, &5th

Wednesday, December 15th      Science 5th only

 

As a reminder, the campus will be closed to all visitors, including parents, on testing days.  This includes lunch drop-offs.  Also, please do not plan on picking up your child early on a day he/she is testing (Avoid scheduling doctor’s appointments on these dates) as students are not allowed to resume an unfinished test. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

 

To safeguard your child’s success on STAAR Interim, please do the following: 

  1. Please make sure your child is well-rested and arrives on time to school (7:40 AM)
  2. Your child is prepared to test and eats a good breakfast the morning of testing
  3. Please encourage your child to do his/her personal best on the test as it can greatly improve your child’s self-confidence which in turn will lead to better test performance. 
  • All testing materials will be provided by the school. 
  • Students who have breakfast in school will be offered breakfast.

We are thrilled to announce that our 2021-2022 Family Literacy Night will be held Thursday, December 9th from 5 pm to 6 pm. There will be prizes, literacy games and more. This will be an evening you don’t want to miss.

Dear Parents,

We are excited to host our Winter Book Fair beginning Monday, December 6th- Friday, December 10, 2021. We will be hosting an event each day to invite your families into our school to shop with your students. Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings kids the books they want to read. We will have a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level, and all purchases benefit our school!

All parents will be asked to park at the front of the building and enter the school through the gym door on the south side of the building. We are asking parents to only enter and exit using the gym doors and remain in the gym only to limit the distraction to the students’ learning environment.

This year Scholastic is offering an E-wallet that parents can load with money for students to spend at the book fair. There will also be an option to purchase all items online and our school will still benefit from these sales. Please see the flyers sent home with your child for more information on how to set this up.
